IronBridge Fabrication

02 — Field

Set by the people who built it

Our field crews erect the steel fabricated in our shop: structural frames, stairs, rails, platforms and canopies.

A field day, in order

  1. Pre-task plan. The foreman walks the day’s picks, fall protection and exclusion zones with the crew.
  2. Shake-out. Pieces are laid out in erection sequence from the shop’s shipping list.
  3. Rig & set. Lifts follow the plan agreed with the crane provider and general contractor.
  4. Connect. Bolted and welded connections completed per the erection drawings.
  5. Plumb & punch. Steel is plumbed, punch items are listed, and the shop hears about every fix.

Qualifications for rigging, signaling and crane operation are provided per project by the appropriate parties.
